The Seaside Museum
The museum welcomes regular annual exhibitions, highlighting both local and international artists.
Near the Tourist Office at the entrance to the town, Bénodet’s Seaside Museum (Musée du bord de mer) tells the story of the town’s seaside swimming atmosphere as well as pleasure boating along the Odet River, a mission faithful to the wishes of the museum’s donor, Jean Boissel.
The permanent collection is dedicated to the leisure activities of the coast and displays working boat models, beach toys, photos, films and unique objects. The museum also describes the regattas of both big and small boats along our coasts. This seaside way of life is the central theme of the marine-inspired display that invites visitors to dream together as a family.
Several temporary exhibitions have made for some eventful seasons.
The galleries on the ground floor are reserved for temporary exhibitions.
